Kenya - Lake Turkana Wind Power project (LTWP)
The Lake Turkana Wind Power project (LTWP) is Africa’s largest wind farm comprising of 365 wind turbines with an output of 310MW, which is equivalent to approximately 18% of Kenya’s current production. The project is located in Marsabit County a few kilometers far from the Lake Turkana.
As a project manager for Entreprise Generale Malta Forrest (EGMF) I managed the turbine civil works. The scope of works also included geo-technical investigations and the foundation design. The works were completed within the baselines, 2 weeks ahead of the schedule.

My Responsibilities:
- Planned, managed, and monitored & controlled works execution, and managed change.
- Monitored and controlled cost.
- Defined and sequenced activities, estimated resources and durations, developed and managed schedule.
- Planned quality management, collected requirements, and managed quality assurance and quality control. Lead project management team to successful ISO 9001:2008 certification.
- Planned resource management, acquired, developed, and managed project team.
- Planned, managed, and controlled communications and reported status and progress.
- Planned risk management, identified risks, performed qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and controlled risk.
- Planned, managed and controlled procurement.
- Identified stakeholders, planned stakeholder management, and managed and controlled stakeholder engagement.
- Planned and performed HSSE assurance, and controlled safety.
At the same time, but under a different contract EGMF also built 368 transformer plinths for Siemens on the LTWP project.
Kenya - Loiyangalani-Suswa 400kV Transmission Line
As a sub-contractor to ISOLUX Spain, EGMF was initially awarded a contract to build 290 tower foundations in Kenya’s north-western region over a distance of 130 kilometer as part of the so-called Loiyangalani-Suswa 400kV Transmission Line.
The purpose of the transmission line is to evacuate the energy generated by the Lake Turkana Wind Power project (LTWP) to the grid.
he scope of works included creating access to the individual tower locations and building the tower foundations.
The project was suspended in July 2017 and continued in December. I have managed the project works during a critical phase from March 2017 until July 2017.

Qatar - Doha North Sewage Treatment Works (DNSTW)
As a sub-contractor to Keppel Seghers Singapore completed eight 11kV sub-stations with generator rooms and plant-rooms attached thereto, a pumping station with a daily capacity of 500,000 m3, a 500,000m3 concrete water tank, a chemical storage building, a control building, and the main entrance gate as part of the so-called Doha North Sewage Treatment Works (DNSTW) in Doha/Qatar.
The scope of works included all civil and structural works and small power and light.

My Responsibilities:
- Provided management throughout the project life-cycle from initiating and planning through execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure.
- Determined the project delivery strategy and scheduling, based on established baselines.
- Planned and managed all required resources for completing the project according to programs.
- Implemented construction processes, procedures, and standards, and initiated methods for process improvement in conjunction with corporate goals.
- Planned, directed and managed works execution, and performed change control involving all project management areas.
- Prepared monthly progress and status reports based on EVM methodologies.
Qatar - Gharaffa Gulf Mall 132/11kV Sub-Station (GGM)
As a sub-contractor to ABB Germany completed the so called 132/11kV Gharaffa Gulf Mall (GGM) sub-station in Doha/Qatar.
The scope of works included designing and building all civil and structural works, small power and light as well as fire systems and HVAC.

- Closed snag-lists and repaired defects,
- Delivered client training,
- Commissioned the executed works,
- Closed contract.
Qatar - EZDAN Five 66/11kV Sub-Station (E5)
As a sub-contractor to ABB Germany completed the so called 66/11kV EZDAN5 sub-station in Doha/Qatar.
The scope of works included designing and building all civil and structural works, small power and light as well as fire systems and HVAC.
My Role:

Nigeria - Eko Energy Estate (EEE), Victoria Island
Design and build three 19 story residential towers as part of the so-called Eko Energy Estate (EEE) project on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria.
The scope of works included design and build all civil, structural, and complete MEP works. The project was suspended after phase I (piling, foundations and ground slabs).

My Responsibilities:
- Provided management and support to all site personnel and developing and maintaining productive relationships with the client, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
- Planned, monitored and controlled departmental activities with the primary focus on ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Developed an ISO 9001:2008 compliant Quality Management System.
- Statistically evaluated data of non-conformity, reworks, and other occurrences of increased effort in search of the cost of quality.
- Reviewed project records and statistics and took appropriate action to resolve identified issues.
- Reported quality related matters and statistics to the internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributed to the development and improvement of execution methodologies.
- Tested materials, and 45 meter deep piles (load test).
Afghanistan - US Air-Force Brigade Head Quarter
As a sub-contractor to ECC USA designed and built one office and one warehouse building at joined army base Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province, Afghanistan for the US Air-Force.
The scope of works included all civil and structural works, HVAC and MEP.
My Role:
Area & Security Manager
My Responsibilities:
- Acted as point of contact for the client, main contractor, and suppliers.
- Worked with the competent offices and services to comply with base specific security rules.
- Introduced the company to contractors based on camp Leatherneck and received bidding invitations.
- Planned and managed resources and ensured timely project implementation in compliance with quality and HSSE requirements.
- Managed communications and reported status and progress.
Germany - IT Systems Migration Server Room
The German Federal Police operates and maintains its own nationwide computer network, which had to be migrated in the course of the expiring support for Windows NT4 to new workstation and server operating systems.
At the airport in Dusseldorf, the IT infrastructure had to be adapted and expanded for this purpose.

- Identified stakeholders and collected requirements and expectations.
- Estimated cost and duration.
Germany - Implementation of Time Management System
The federal police station at the airport in Dusseldorf had in the years shortly after the turn of the millennium about 1200 employees of different categories.
The need to introduce a flexible management system and working hours, as well as overtime control, had been established.

- Identified stakeholders and collected requirements and expectations, inclusive of legal regulations.
- Managed the system installation and basic configuration.
- Executed the database detail configuration.
- Commissioned the system and handed it over to operations.
Germany - Implementation of MRKA System
In line with rising global security standards and requirements, Dusseldorf airport was one of the first in the world to incorporate a so-called multi-level automatic baggage inspection system (German: Mehrstufige Reisegepaeckkontrollanlage – MRKA).
Owner of the highly computerized control system, but not the luggage conveyor, is the federal police. The system was initially operated by the IT department.

- Monitored the progress of system installation.
- Accompanied and supported the MRKA commissioning and verified scope of works.
- Determined team and organized training.
- Managed the operation of the system.
- Evaluated error statistics and communicated the same with the goal of system improvement.
